Employment Opportunities for the 2012 Season
Assistant Box Office Manager
The Gloucester Stage Company seeks an Assistant Box Office Manager who is well-organized, detail oriented, good with numbers and have some relevant professional experience, preferably in the non-profit sector. Candidate should be able to manage time effectively and work well as part of a team. Experience with ticketing software and/or database software, and proficiency in Excel a must. Valid Drivers License required. Bachelors Degree preferred.
40 hours per week
$9.50 per hour / no benefits
Position Start/End Date: June 4, 2012 to September 16, 2012
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Assisting with the management of the day to day operations of the box office for the GSC 2012 season
· Maintaining a friendly and positive Box Office environment for both the customers and the staff
· Promoting excellence in patron service as well as responding to and resolving patron complaints or requests in a timely manner
· Receiving and processing subscriptions and single ticket sales
· Tracking marketing and donation information on all patron and ticket sales
· Assisting Box Office Manager with processing all income
· Other projects as assigned

Assistant House and Company Manager
The Gloucester Stage Company (GSC) seeks an Assistant House and Company Manager who is an enthusiastic and motivated professional to run the front-of-house operations and address the travel, housing and hospitality needs of visiting artists. Candidate should be able to manage time effectively and work well as part of a team. Valid Drivers License required.
35 - 40 hours per week
$9.00 per hour / no benefits
Position Start/End Date: June 4, 2012 to September 16, 2012
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
As Assistant House Manager:
· Assisting House Manager with front-of-house services and activities for the Gloucester Stage Company as they relate to patron services and safety, volunteer usher staff supervision and administrative managerial duties for every performance
· Maintaining orderliness and cleanliness of theater lobby, restrooms and audience seating sections in the theater
· Resolving all patron concerns and inquiries efficiently and courteously.
· Preparing event and financial reports
· Enforcing health and safety policies, fire regulations and evacuation procedures including making sure all exits and escape routes are clear from obstruction; assigning usher staff to emergency evacuation assignments
· Coordinating the opening of house, timely start of show, latecomer seating, intermission procedures; clearing of the auditorium after performances, and handling of any disruption to performances with ushers, Stage Managers and Production Assistants
· Opening and closing the building in a safe and timely manner
· Mounting and dismantling posters, photos and other promotional items
· Coordinating the handicapped accessible parking spaces available in front of the theater and posting of parking restriction signage in our residential neighborhood
As Assistant Company Manager:
· Assisting the Company Manager with coordinating and supporting housing for artistic staff.
· Creating and distributing Welcome Packets for all visiting artistic staff
· In consultation with Artistic Director and General Manager, coordinating travel and housing arrangements for artistic staff
· Coordinating transportation to and from the theater for artistic staff for rehearsals and performances
· Organizing post-show receptions, cast parties and other events
· Assisting with other duties as needed

2012 Season Production Assistants
The Gloucester Stage Company (GSC) is seeking 5 - 6 Production Assistants for its 2012 Summer Season. Candidates should have some knowledge in technical theater, stagecraft, good sense of humor, willingness to learn and work well as part of a team. Valid Drivers License preferred.
35 - 40 hours per week
$350 per week / no benefits
Employment runs mid-June to mid-September
Duties include but are not exclusive to:
· Acts as an assistant to the Master Electrician, during lighting hang and focus
· Assists the Technical Director with assigned tasks
· Runs sound, lights or running crew as needed during performances
· Act as on-call technician for light, sound, set problems during performances
· Assists with installation, strike, and inventorying of sound equipment
· Attends all rehearsals and assists the Stage Manager with assigned tasks
· Assists the Props Master, if needed, with rehearsal props and assigned tasks
· Ensures a safe working environment and instruct all staff working in theater on safe use of equipment and on procedures for responding to emergencies
· Assists in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the building
· Assists in organizing and maintaining the the shop and electrical areas
